THE GLENAN ARCHIPELAGO

A true Breton paradise between sea and sky !
Brittany Places to visit GLENAN ARCHIPELAGO

Located south of Fouesnant, in the South Finistère and only one hour from the Breton coast, the Glénan archipelago is composed of 9 main islands and several islets. A small paradise which offers white sandy beaches and turquoise and transparent water...

A cruise to the Glénan islands

Departures for the crossing are from Bénodet, Concarneau, Loctudy, Port-la-Forêt and Beg Meil on board launches that will drop you off on the island of Saint-Nicolas. Keep your eyes open... during the crossing, it is possible to see dolphins and whale sharks off the coast.

The island of Saint-Nicolas is the main island of the Glénan and the only one accessible by speedboat. It is here that the archipelago's tourist activity is concentrated. Its rich and magnificent flora as well as its maritime jewel make this island a paradise. Part of the island is classified as a national nature reserve in order to protect the "Glénan narcissus", a plant endemic to the archipelago.

On the island, it is possible to practice various nautical activities:

- Discover the richness and beauty of the seabed during a dive at the CIP Centre International de Plongée, a world-renowned diving centre!

- Rent a kayak and go on a day trip. Stroll from island to island in the lagoon and take in the sights.

- Learn to sail in Europe's first sailing school, "Les Glénans".

Finally, if you prefer hiking, a wooden path allows you to walk around the main island of the Glenan for 1km.
