Le Cap Sizun

At the very tip of Cornouaille
Brittany Places to visit Cap Sizun

Sandwiched between Douarnenez Bay in the north and Audierne Bay in the south, the Cap Sizun is the westernmost tip of the Cornouaille region of Brittany. With its famous Pointe du Raz (listed as a “Grand site de France”), this cape is an exceptional territory where natural and cultural heritage is protected and celebrated.

Surrounded by the Pointe du Raz and the Pointe du Van lies the Baie des Trépassés (Trespassers’ Bay), a well-regarded surfing spot with exceptional sea views.

Birthplace of the Kouign-amann cake and former sardine port, Douarnenez is a town full of history full of myth and tradition.

Sandwiched between the Pointe du Van in the south and the Cap de la Chèvre on the Crozon peninsula in the north, Douarnenez Bay opens up onto the west and the Iroise Sea. Dominated by the Menez-Hom mountain, sacred among the ancient peoples of the region, Douarnenez Bay is the end of the Montagnes Noires chain.

A bit further inland, the town of Pont-Croix is a place where you can sit back and relax.

Between the banks of the River Goyen and the winding network of passages and lanes, wander round and soak up the town’s charms.
