Erdeven is a charming little town in the Morbihan department of Southern Brittany. Surrounded by forests, sand dunes and beautiful beaches, Erdeven is the ideal place for nature lovers and hikers in Morbihan.

 

The main hiking trails in and around Erdeven

Erdeven village trail

Discover Erdeven's seaside countryside on this almost 13km loop of small and large roads. You'll discover the town's heritage, with its many springs, megaliths and chapels. This hike lasts about 3h30.

The Kerzerho alignments in Morbihan

Discover one of the region's most impressive megalithic sites, the Alignments de Kerzerho, on this 17km hike lasting around 4 hours 50 minutes. You'll see megalithic structures such as menhirs and dolmens dating from between 5000 and 2000 BC, including the Dolmen de la Table du Sacrifice, the Géants de Kerzerho, the Mané Braz dolmens and menhirs, the Chaise de César, and the Kerjean and Belanno menhir alignments.

Voie verte n°5: cycling from Erdeven to Quiberon

From Erdeven to Quiberon, Voie Verte n°5 is a flat, easy cycle path, ideal for a Morbihan family activity. It's accessible on foot, bike or rollerblades through the Dunes Sauvages from Gâvres to Quiberon.

In Erdeven, take the Cordon Dunaire circuit over 20km for 1h15 from the Atlantic coast to the Erdeven forest. Then take the 14km À la découverte du patrimoine (1h) circuit from the park of Château de Keravéon to the Varquez megalithic site.

The Erdeven megalithic trail

On this 8km hike, discover the megalithic sites in the commune of Erdeven in Brittany, crossing the Breton countryside and passing dolmens, menhirs, tumuli and other megalithic structures. It's a fascinating hike for history and archaeology buffs.

The ria d'Étel loop

This 23 km hiking loop offers a wide variety of landscapes, with magnificent views of the Breton coast and the ria d'Étel. Departure is from Saint-Cado, a charming fishing village on the ria. The hike passes sand dunes, pine forests and salt marshes, before crossing the ria d'Étel by water cab (only available from June to September) to continue on to the beach at Sainte-Barbe. Ideal for experienced hikers looking for a unique and unforgettable adventure.

The GR34 coastal path: close to the dunes

The coastal path is a 25 km hike along the coast between Erdeven and Quiberon, with breathtaking ocean views. You'll discover many historic sites, such as Fort Penthièvre and Château de Turpault.

Ocean trail in Erdeven

The Sentier de l'océan hike in Erdeven is a beautiful 4km, 1-hour walk along the coast. The trail is well-marked and open to bicycles. From Erdeven, you can easily reach the village and Kerhillio beach, with panoramic ocean views.

The GR34 customs trail - Erdeven to St-Pierre-Quiberon

The GR34, or "Sentier des douaniers", runs through the commune of Erdeven in Brittany, offering spectacular views of the commune's south coast. Hikers can access the path from the beaches of Kerhillio or Sainte-Barbe and follow the route through dunes, marshes, woods and cliffs.

Sentier de la Roche Sèche - Kerouriec

The Sentier de la Roche Sèche is a 5 km walk lasting around 1h15, accessible by mountain bike. You'll cross the dunes of the Grand Site de France Gâvre-Quiberon to the beaches of Kerouriec and Kerminihy, before arriving at La Roche Sèche. Here, you can see the remains of the Atlantic Wall, a reminder of the Second World War, and a few discoveries can be made after storms...

Sentier de la Vieille Route

Over a distance of 11.2 km, enjoy a 2h30 loop on the Vieille Route trail. This trail, which follows the old Etel-Vannes road, is probably an ancient Roman road. During your walk, you'll be able to see the moat and the façade of the Château de Keravéon.
