Our 4-day star hike program from Le Pouldu

Here is a 4-day itinerary, starting from the beach of Kérou, perfect for discovering all the richness of this territory between land and sea in a nature holiday in Brittany.

Day 1 – FromKérou beach to Doëlan

You start strong with an emblematic route of the Breton coast. Head for Doëlan, a charming little postcard port with its twin lighthouses. The walk follows the GR34 South Finistère, offering superb panoramas of the Atlantic, between cliffs, secret coves and Breton moorland. Pass by the Roche Percée and the Pointe de Beg an Tour and enjoy breathtaking panoramas.

  • Distance: approx. 12 km round trip
  • Difficulty: medium
  • Not to be missed: picnic break in front of the port with its colorful houses, sunrise or sunset on the cliffs.

Day 2 – FromKérou to Port du Bas Pouldu via Laïta

A gentler walk on the GR34 South Finistère, but just as beautiful. Walking along the Laïta, the quiet river that marks the border between Finistère and Morbihan, you reach a small, calm and green port. The atmosphere is bucolic and a change from the marine panoramas. Go by the beach of Kérou, then by the beach of Bellangenet, take the esplanade of the ocean, then you will pass by the Pilot Mast and then arrive at the port. Guests can enjoy a drink and oysters at the Steir Laïta bar.

  • Distance: approx. 10 km round trip
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Not to be missed: the contrast between the sea and the river, the fauna on the shore.

Day 3 – In the footsteps of Gauguin

Cultural and artistic march! Follow in the footsteps of Gauguin and the painters of the Pont-Aven school. This loop will take you through the exact places where these artists painted at the end of the nineteenth century. The trail passes by the Pouldu House-Museum, which recreates the atmosphere of Marie Henry's inn. Take the "painters' circuit".

  • Distance: approx. 10 km
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Not to be missed: the historical re-enactment and the viewpoints painted by Gauguin.

Day 4 – Between chapels and mills

We leave the coast a little for an immersion in the rural heritage of Brittany. The hike takes you to discover the chapels of Notre-Dame de la Paix, then the Kercousquet windmill, crossing country paths, between hedgerows and sunken paths.

  • Distance: approx. 12 km
  • Difficulty: medium
  • Not to be missed: the stained glass windows, the view from the mill, the paths in the forest.
