Upgaarden an ecological greenhouse

Upgaarden is a brand of eco-designed garden greenhouses. Discover the story behind this new brand.

What is Upgaarden?

Created in 2021 by Lorraine Le Baud, Upgaarden is a young brand of urban and ecological greenhouse. Upgaarden greenhouses are strong, attractive and have the smallest carbon footprint on the market, thanks to the reuse of end-of-life joinery, collected, re-cut and transformed.

Thanks to the reuse of building materials such as glass, exterior joinery and office partitions, the greenhouses have virtually zero carbon footprint. The manufacture of a chassis greenhouse emits just 10kg of C02, the equivalent of 2 meals in a fast-food restaurant or a journey of just 50km by car! These emissions are 30 times lower than an equivalent new greenhouse.

Greenhouse production

Upgaarden uses a unique manufacturing process, reusing exterior joinery from buildings in Brittany (former schools, libraries, offices and housing), thereby keeping manufacturing-related carbon emissions to a minimum, while reducing construction waste.

And that's not all: Upgaarden supports the manufacture of these products by a Lorient-based social integration organization, thus contributing to the reintegration of prisoners. For them, this represents fifteen hours of work experience, and enables them to develop skills in working with wood and glass. Upgaarden's ecological greenhouses have been awarded the PePs «Produit en Prison.s» label.»

Naéco supports Upgaarden in its ecological approach

At Naéco, we're delighted to have installed Upgaarden's very first ecological greenhouse! We installed it in the garden of our offices in Carnac to encourage the growth of our vegetable plants by taking advantage of the influence of the climate.

Heavily involved in a CSR approach, Naéco is delighted to contribute to Upgaarden's development, as we share the same values.

Recently Naéco hostels have been awarded the Clef Verte label, We are committed to creating green spaces on our sites.
